McKinney National Airport’s new $79 million commercial passenger terminal is on track to start hosting flights starting in November. Avelo Airlines will launch the first-ever commercial passenger service at McKinney National Airport (DTX) on November 11, 2026. The low-cost carrier is establishing a local base with two Boeing 737 aircraft, offering nonstop flights to Las Vegas and four Florida destinations.
The facility includes a 45,000-square-foot terminal with four initial gates, expanded vehicle parking, and upgraded ramp/taxiway infrastructure.
Construction of the commercial terminal began in 2025. McKinney will be the third commercial airport in the DFW, along with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field.
Avelo Airlines, Inc. is an American ultra-low-cost airline headquartered in Houston, Texas. It previously operated charter flights as Casino Express Airlines and Xtra Airways before transitioning to scheduled operations and rebranding as Avelo Airlines on April 8, 2021.
