AT&T, the third-largest telecom operator in the US, is upgrading its modular wireless service to give consumers an easy way to bundle their internet service needs. The company first launched its customizable Build-a-Plan option in May as an entry-level tier. Now, it is taking things a step further by allowing customers to add fast home internet to some AT&T mobile plans under a single, monthly bill.
AT&T users can combine cellular data with fast broadband service
According to AT&T’s press release, the starting price for a combined package is $70 every month. This vanilla cost includes the $15 base wireless tier, a $20 unlimited mobile data add-on with SD-quality video streaming, and $35 for either AT&T Fiber 300 or Internet Air. If you want to get the specific price, you’ll need an eligible wireless account and the autopay option enabled.
Since the Build-a-Plan system focuses on flexibility, AT&T users can adjust cellular data limits or hotspot allowances from month to month. If fiber optic cables do not reach your area, the telco offers Internet Air as a wireless alternative powered by its 5G network. This ensures that your home stays connected regardless of local infrastructure.
The new tariff restricts accounts to a single user line
AT&T’s new budget-friendly mobile plans update with home internet services comes with a few notable restrictions. The brand has limited the Build-a-Plan service to one line per account for now. Families or couples looking for a shared group plan will need to explore other options within the telecom operator’s lineup.
Furthermore, the base unlimited tier restricts video streaming quality to 480p resolution. If you want to view videos in HD or higher quality on the go, you have to choose a premium data plan at a higher cost. Still, for single users wanting simple, straightforward billing and total control over monthly charges, this approach offers a better pathway to savings.
