WWDC 2026 kicks off next week, and if you’re looking forward to seeing what Apple has in store this year in terms of software, then you should definitely tune in. Ahead of the event, Apple has posted a short WWDC26 teaser on YouTube with the tagline reading: “All systems glow for WWDC26.”
Apple posts WWDC26 teaser
Apple’s taglines and imagery are usually a hint of what’s to come. So the question is, what does Apple have planned for WWDC 2026, and what does the WWDC26 teaser mean? If we had to venture a guess, we’d say that the revamped Siri will sit high on Apple’s priority list.
The reference to the “glow” could be one of a couple of things. For starters, with iOS 26, Apple changed Siri’s animation. Devices running on iOS 26 will show a glowing border around the display when Siri is summoned. It might be safe to assume that’s the direction Apple is headed with its revamped Siri. Secondly, and this is just our speculation, it could be Apple referring to Siri’s “glow up.”
The Cupertino company was expected to introduce a revamped Siri alongside Apple Intelligence years ago. However, that failed to materialize. But it looks like we might finally see what Apple has been working on. Recent leaks have suggested Siri could be launched as a standalone app. It is also rumored to function much like other AI apps, where users could have conversations with it.
For those unfamiliar, the revamped Siri will be powered by a custom Google Gemini model. This saves Apple the effort of having to design its own LLM from scratch. That is to say if you’ve ever used Gemini, then you should have a rough idea of how the new Siri will perform.
What else can we expect?
In addition to Siri, we can expect to see major software update announcements at the event. This includes iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. We also expect Apple to update the OS of its other products, including Apple TV, Apple Watch, and the Vision Pro.
As for hardware, don’t expect to see hardware announcements. Apple typically saves its major product announcements for September. Instead, it will be largely software focused, which is fine if you’re not planning on upgrading your Apple hardware anytime soon. The event kicks off on June 8 at 10AM PT.
