Apple is finally expanding some key health features for the Apple Watch and AirPods Pro to more regions globally. If you live in India and have either of the two devices, two of the most popular Apple Health features are coming your way too. Additionally, users in Italy and Taiwan are also getting new features.
The company expands select Apple Health features to Apple Watch and AirPods Pro users globally
There’s no doubt that one of the key focus areas of Apple wearables is user health. The Apple Watch is one prominent example. At this point, the company offers nearly 15 to 20 core health features across various Apple Watch models. Well, some important Apple Health features are now expanding beyond the US to global users.
In a post on X, Apple SVP of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, announced that the company is “expanding important [Apple Health] features globally.” As part of the expansion, select Apple Health features are now available in over 160 countries and regions worldwide. Indian Apple Watch and AirPods Pro users are getting Hearing Test and Sleep Apnea Notifications as part of latest expansion.
Notably, the new Hearing Test feature works with the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 model. Whereas Sleep apnea notifications require newer Apple Watch models. These include the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch SE 3.
Some features are also expanding to Italy and Taiwan
Besides India, Italian and Taiwanese users are also getting one Apple Health feature each. Those living in Italy are getting Hearing Aid functionality for AirPods Pro. Whereas, users in Taiwan are getting Hypertension Notifications support for newer Apple Watch models. For those unaware, this feature is currently supported on the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 running watchOS 26 or later.
