Apple will have a completely different product launch strategy this year. Rumors indicate the Cupertino tech giant will launch the “Pro” iPhone 18 series models, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, later this fall. The standard or vanilla iPhone 18 variant will follow early next year, alongside the iPhone 18e. The brand could release the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold as well with the iPhone 18 Pro series. Ahead of the launch of this year’s models, a leaker has revealed Apple could launch six devices next year, including the iPhone 20 Pro.
Apple is reportedly launching three iPhones in the first quarter of 2027
According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple will launch up to six new iPhone models in 2027, including the iPhone 20 Pro. In the first quarter of the year, the company will reportedly introduce the base iPhone 18 variant. The iPhone Air 2 and the iPhone 18e, the successors to the iPhone Air and iPhone 17e, respectively, will accompany the vanilla 2026 iPhone.
The source has also revealed a couple of tidbits about the display size, screen panel, and resolution of these devices. The tipster claims the iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18 will retain the same display sizes as their predecessors. The Air 2 will have a 6.55-inch display, and the iPhone 18 will feature a 6.3-inch screen, both with 1.5K 120Hz LTPO OLED screen panels.
As for the iPhone 18e, it will still sport a 6.12-inch 60Hz display with an LTPS OLED screen panel. Unfortunately, it means next year’s iPhone 18e will still not support ProMotion.
Apple has completed mold testing for the iPhone 20 Pro model and Ultra 2
Additionally, the tipster claims that Apple has already completed mold testing for the iPhone 20 series models, apart from the second-gen foldable iPhone. The company will launch the iPhone 20 Pro, iPhone 20 Pro Max, and the iPhone Ultra 2 or Fold 2 models in the third quarter of 2027. It looks like the brand has prepared multiple prototypes for these three devices ahead of the launch of this year’s iPhones.
If the source is correct, 2027 will be Apple’s biggest year in iPhone history. It’s worth mentioning that Digital Chat Station doesn’t have a credible track record as compared to other tipsters, so take this information with a grain of salt for now.
