A GTA 6 release date delay is probably one of the biggest fears about the game for franchise fans, as many wait with baited breath for any news of another trailer for the game leading up to its new release date. GTA 6 was delayed more than once but it’s new and current arrival is set for November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have both been insistent that the game is on schedule and that there have been no changes. Of course, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said this before, and then the game was delayed months later.
The delay to November 19, 2026 came just a few moments before Take-Two’s Q2 earnings call last year. With that in mind, some gamers are worried that the same thing may happen again this year. Part of the reason for this is the fact that anything is possible. GTA 6 is a big game, and Take-Two and Rockstar both have stated that it wants to ensure the game lives up to the standards of fans. In other words, it won’t launch unless it’s ready. Another reason some fans fear another possible delay is that Rockstar hasn’t thrown out in a new trailer in a while. Trailer 2 was released in early May of last year. This long time span has some thinking that a delay is inevitable. That might not be the case though.

Speaking on the delay, former Editor-In-Chief at GamesRadar, Dan Dawkins, recently spoke with YouTube channel GTAVIoclock on a podcast, and noted that another delay is unlikely based on what they’ve been hearing. He also suspects the third trailer for the game will drop before the next major investor call.
Additionally, Dawkins says that he is probably 96% confident that another delay isn’t coming. Granted, this is still no confirmation from Take-Two or Rockstar Game Studios. Then again, Take-Two has said several times in the past that it was confident no delay was coming, and then a delay hits. So, take that for what it’s worth. As of now, GTA 6 will release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
