Android phones like the upcoming Pixel 11 Pro Fold usually come in a couple of different colors, and it’s usually not long before the public ends up learning what those colors are even before Google officially announces things. That’s exactly what seems to be happening now, two wallpapers in Android 17 having given away what these two colors likely are. Granted, this isn’t a confirmation by any measure. It is highly likely though.
It’s worth noting that Google has really only ever launched two colors for each of its foldable phones. Unlike the standard Pixel devices each year, which get four or more, the Pixel Fold, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold have only been released in two color options. The same is probably going to be true with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold when it launches later this year.
Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1 wallpapers hint at two Pixel 11 Pro Fold colors
Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1 was released this week and now that people have had some time to play around with it, a couple of new wallpapers that were added have caught people’s attention. As 9To5Google has discovered, two new wallpapers from the beta, called Tide Swirl and Lunar Tides, appear to be showing the associated colors of the new phone.
Tide Swirl has a green shade while Lunar Tides has a sort of gray shade. Granted, the colors won’t be exactly the same, but they usually match somewhat. For instance, with the Pixel 10 series, there were similarly colored wallpapers for the Moonstone, Jade, Obsidian, and Porcelain phone models. So, with that in mind, this suggests that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be available in some sort of green color, and a gray-ish color. Additionally, while the wallpapers are titled Tide Swirl and Lunar Tides, they’re also labeled as Pine and Midnight in terms of colors. It’s noted that these aren’t likely to be the names though, and are simply color names for the wallpapers.
It’s unclear what the names will be. Furthermore, it’s entirely possible that these won’t be the colors of the phone at all. That being said, each of the two wallpapers references the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. So, what is clear is that these come from Google’s upcoming foldable.
