Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max
– $44.99
The latest and greatest Fire TV Stick is now at its all-time-low price! Making this an absolute steal.
Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Max is down to $45 right now, and after the price hike it got earlier this year, that is a deal I would not sit on. Amazon quietly bumped the regular price from $60 to $85 in August, so you’re saving $40 when you pick up the Fire TV Stick 4K Max on Amazon.
I’ve covered Fire TV deals for over a decade, and this stick has been the easy recommendation for most of that time. We called it the best streaming device under $100 in our Fire TV Stick 4K Max review, and at $45 it’s an even easier sell.
Under the hood, you’re getting a 2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage, and WiFi 6E support. That combination keeps menus quick and 4K streams stable, even on a crowded home network. It also handles Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos, so it gets the most out of a good TV and soundbar.
The bigger reason to grab one now is software. Amazon’s brand-new Fire TV Stick 4K runs Vega OS, the Linux-based platform that replaced Android on newer Fire TV hardware and is expected to power every future Fire TV Stick. Vega OS does not allow sideloading. The 4K Max still runs the Android-based Fire OS, and Amazon has confirmed sideloading isn’t going away on existing Fire TV Sticks. If you rely on apps outside the Amazon Appstore, this is the stick to buy.
It’s also now the only Fire TV Stick in Amazon’s lineup with Dolby Vision support. It already picked up Amazon’s revamped Fire TV interface earlier this year, and Amazon says the Alexa+ hub is coming to the 4K Max in November. This stick will keep getting new features for a while.
Beyond that, you get the Alexa Voice Remote and Ambient Experience, which turns your TV into a smart display with art and widgets when you’re not watching anything. There’s also Xbox Cloud Gaming support if you have a controller handy. If you’re new to the platform, our Fire TV guide covers everything else you need to know.
At $45, this is a lot of streaming stick for the money. Sale prices on Fire TV hardware don’t tend to stick around long, especially now that the regular price sits at $85. I’d grab one while you can.
