The Adobe Premiere app for Android is finally here. It comes after the iOS version was made available last year. If you’re into video editing, you most definitely know how popular Adobe Premiere is, especially on desktop machines. Much like the iOS variant, the Android app is free with in-app purchases for its generative AI features.

The basic editing features, like the ability to split, trim, crop, and merge footage to adjust video speeds, add text, and effects, are available at no cost. Furthermore, users can export an unlimited number of 4K videos with no watermarks in the size they want for any platform without having to pay anything.
The app also includes an Enhance Audio tool for reducing background noise and cleaning up voiceovers. You’ll also get transitions, creative assets, and Adobe Stock integration. It also has a built-in voice recorder. Users can start with creator-made templates or create their own. The app reportedly supports a wide range of Android devices and form factors, including foldable phones.

That said, there are certain AI features, like creating sound effects or accessing AI-generated assets through Adobe Firefly. You need to buy generative AI credits to use them. Users will also be able to buy extra cloud storage through the app. Adobe says it will add more features soon, including Adobe Fonts, improved captions, and the ability to transfer projects to Premiere Pro on desktop, “beat detection,” cropping, and more. However, there’s no specific timeline given for these.
As said, Adobe Premiere for Android is free to use, and you don’t need a Creative Cloud subscription. The app doesn’t show ads either. That said, it requires at least 5GB of RAM and devices running Android 13 or newer. You can give the app a try by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
