Evan Blass aka evleaks has just shared two new images of Samsung’s upcoming foldables. These images are giving us another look at the thinness of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, basically.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the company’s thinnest foldable yet
Both of these images are showing the devices in half-opened state, from an angle. You can see just how thin they are. For the Galaxy Z Flip 7, that won’t be a huge change, but for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it sure will.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is actually a rather thin book-style foldable. Well, at least compared to the competition, which is way, way thinner. It is 12.1mm thick when folded, compared to 8.9mm of the OPPO Find N5, which is currently the thinnest book-style foldable.
It will be as thin as the OPPO Find N5, it seems
Well, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is about to change the game for Samsung, as it’s about to trim down the fat. It will allegedly be around 8.9mm thick when folded. So, it’s expected to be on the same level as the OPPO Find N5. You can see the thickness of the Fold 7 and Fold 6 compared below. The leaked image also shows the punch hole on the main display, which is making a comeback.
FOLD 7 VS FOLD 6
The Galaxy Z Flip 7, on the other hand, will not bring a huge change in the thinness department. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 was already plenty thin for a flip phone foldable. What it will bring, however, is a larger cover display.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is coming with a bigger cover panel
Its cover display will go around the rear camera this time around, as Samsung is ditching its folder-type cover display. Let’s hope that the company will also enable any app to run on that cover display without the need for us to jump through hoops.
Both of these phones will become official on July 9, during Samsung’s Unpacked event.
