Google’s Android 17 QPR3 Beta 3 update fixes 26 bugs on Pixel phones
Google’s official changelog for the Beta 3 update notes 26 fixes that you can look forward to if you’re running the company’s beta software on your Pixel device. A full list of changes is at your disposal, while we’ll mention some of them in the rest of the article.
Recents overview will no longer flicker when performing a home gesture after quick-switching apps. That was a well-known bug that Google took care of with this update.
The company also fixed the issue where the inner display remains black when unfolding the device. If you’ve been having issues with the X app crashing, that should no longer be a problem either.
Displays on Pixel phones running beta software have also been randomly turning off and on during device usage… that should no longer happen. The issue with poor video quality when using the device as a webcam has also been fixed.
Various problems have been fixed
Google also fixed the problem with toast notifications intermittently failing to display under high memory pressure. Home screen wallpapers will no longer incorrectly display on the lock screen when waking the device from an open app.
Equalizer frequency adjustment bars will no longer be cut off at the top of the screen, while the force stop button in app settings will no longer fail to terminate running applications.
Colored icons flickered when navigating back to the Accessibility settings page; well, Google fixed that too. Apps will also no longer fail to launch new activities when opened with an active Picture-in-Picture window.
If you’ve spotted inconsistent spacing between status bar icons… that has been fixed. Grouped notification icons and titles will no longer appear grayed out either, nor will UI buttons render as black-and-white squares without icons in dark mode.
About a dozen additional fixes can be found in the company’s official changelog for this update.
