Meta is known for doing things quietly. In a latest move, it has silently launched a new AI-powered pet app called Waddle World. It’s an application that combines virtual pet care with daily journaling. Users can talk to digital pets that can respond to conversations and doodles.
Meta’s new AI app combines daily journaling with pet care
Waddle World is described as a 16-bit pet care experience. However, its main purpose is journaling rather than traditional gaming. As per its Play Store and App Store listing, users can hatch a virtual pet, visit it regularly, and build a connection through voice conversations instead of typing. The virtual pet can also create doodles based on their chats with the user.
Meta has also added simple activities such as stacking groceries and word games in the new app. The app’s description says it’s primarily built to provide users with a relaxing space. It doesn’t have any streaks, scores, or anything that pressures users to keep playing. The app was first spotted by the social media consultant Matt Navarra on X. It’s a free-to-use app. However, its access is currently limited to adult users in the Philippines. The tech giant has not confirmed whether it will be available in the US or other markets.
Meta expands its AI app experiments
Meta seems to be experimenting by launching new AI apps. Waddle World is not the firm’s only recent app launch. It has also introduced Style Sketch, an AI-powered fashion app. The app is currently available in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
The firm is going all out on AI products. It is developing its Muse AI agent alongside a range of digital mascots and small AI-focused gadgets. The new AI apps are another niche the company is focusing on. Regardless, Meta has not explained whether either app will expand to additional markets or become part of its wider product lineup.
