Amazon announced a reimagined Amazon Music app that’s coming to Fire TV this fall. This new app brings the complete music catalog, music videos, video podcasts, live concerts, festival livestreams, exclusive artist performances, and more under one single roof. Amazon says the redesigned app comes with Alexa Plus built-in.
The new Amazon Music Fire TV app brings music, podcasts, and videos together
The company says the modern interface makes navigation between music, podcasts, and performances easier. Users can switch between audio and video, view song lyrics, explore related playlists, and discover new favorites with auto-playing video and album art as they browse. It’ll surface recommendations based on listening history and preferences across Amazon Music, including mobile, Alexa, web, and Fire TV.
With Alexa Plus, users can also ask for music by mood, activity, or artist, or find podcasts by title or creator. Amazon is bringing all of this to the biggest screen in users’ living rooms: TVs. As said, this new app will be coming to Fire TV in the coming days.
Coming to Fire TV this fall
Amazon seems to be betting big on Alexa Plus. The integration within Amazon Music seems to be in the right direction. Users can now speak in natural language and get relevant recommendations. To recall, the Alexa Plus AI assistant was released last year, but in a limited capacity. However, it has since expanded to more customers. The company is offering it free of charge to all Fire TV users in the US.
This comes alongside the launch of a new Fire TV Stick 4K, a redesigned Fire TV remote, and what seems to be the biggest Alexa Plus update since its release. Amazon is also bringing Alexa Plus to the Fire TV mobile app, with both text and voice search. On Fire TV devices, the company is bringing a dedicated Alexa Plus hub that focuses on improving content recommendations.
