Actor Henry Cavill is teaming up with Google in what initially sounds like an unlikely partnership, but it’s all for the purpose of using a Googlebook to create an upcoming video game. Cavill has been very outspoken about his love for gaming, sharing a video of him building a beefy gaming PC back in 2020, and noting that he’s been involved with playing the popular tabletop war game Warhammer 40K since he was a kid. He’s also working on a Warhammer 40K show project. In short, Henry Cavill is an unabashed gamer.
In an official post about this partnership, Cavill has stated that he found Google’s work with the Googlebook laptops interesting, and he asked to play with one before the announcement. Which has led to the new project he’s working on using the laptop to create this new game.

According to Google’s official post, the Googlebook made sense to Cavill because he uses an Android phone, and the Googlebook’s seamless integration with Android made it easy for the laptop to “keep up with him and his phone.”
Neither Google nor Cavill have shared specific details about the game that Cavill is creating, but it is confirmed that the Googlebook is being used in some capacity to work on this project. There’s also an official landing page for keeping up to date on what the project is, which Google says users should “stay tuned” for if they want to know more about the game. The only other bit of detail that Google shares is that the game is coming this November, but it isn’t mentioned when in November, nor is it mentioned how long Cavill has had a Googlebook to work on this project prior to Google’s official announcement earlier this month.
