Breaking its usual tradition, Xiaomi just launched the Pro variants of its flagships last week: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. There was no standard Xiaomi 18 this time around. However, rumors circulating on the web claim that it’ll launch separately at an event in December. Before that, a new leak has now revealed the complete specs of the Xiaomi 18.
Xiaomi 18 specs leak reveals Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 power
According to the tipster Panda is Bald, the standard Xiaomi 18 will get a dual 200MP rear camera, much like the Xiaomi 18 Pro siblings. This is a big upgrade over the Xiaomi 17, which just rocked triple 50MP sensors. It could feature a 1/1.28 inch 200MP primary camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. A 50MP ultrawide lens could round off the rear camera setup.
Powering the Xaomi 18 could be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. To recall, the Pro and Pro Max models feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. This will allow Xiaomi to price its standard Xiaomi 18 flagship slightly cheaper than the Pro models.
6.4-inch display, 7,200mAh battery, and 100W fast charging
Additionally, the Xiaomi 18 might sport a 6.4-inch M11 display with a 1.5K resolution. The tipster claims it will pack a 7,200mAh battery with 100W fast charging. While it will have wireless charging support as well, the charging speeds are not available at this time. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t mention the RAM and storage options or other features the phone will offer.Â
The tipster, however, reiterates that Xiaomi 18 will launch in December. It’s not clear if it’ll expand to global regions or remain exclusive to China. For what it’s worth, Xiaomi did confirm it will soon expand the Xiaomi 18 Pro to more regions outside of China this time. This means global regions can finally experience Xiaomi’s take on the rear display.
