The My Pixel app is your entry point to everything from specialized Pixel Tips to submitting repair requests and contacting support, and on the Pixel 11 series devices, this app icon received a customized color that matches the color of your actual device. On all older models, the My Pixel app comes with an icon displayed in the same color: a gradient of light and dark blues. New evidence discovered in the most recent version of the app shows that Google is working on bringing these customized device colors to the icon on older Pixel phone models.
It isn’t currently clear when or if Google will actually roll this out to users. As it stands right now, this change has been spotted in the app but it isn’t live and not readily visible.

According to Android Authority, who discovered these changes to the app icon on their own devices, the My Pixel app icon is showing customized color matching with the Pixel 9 series phones. It’s reportedly not showing these custom colors for Pixel 10 series devices yet, but if the colors are showing up for an older model, it’s suggested that the Pixel 10 series phones will also receive this treatment.
The report states that this change to the icon colors showed up in the My Pixel app version 8.9.1, so users who aren’t updated to this version won’t see it. This app icon change is purely visual and doesn’t come with any actual changes to the app’s function, but it does serve as a means of making each user’s Pixel more custom and personal.
It isn’t mentioned if this custom icon color will end up on even older Pixel models, like those from the Pixel 8 series and prior.
