The Google Gemini app on Android devices is getting some changes in the account switcher menu in the near future, and these changes are aimed at simplifying the page to make it look and feel less cluttered and more organized for users. These changes will reportedly be implemented in the v17.58.13 version of the Gemini app on Android.
If you open the app now and then go to the account switcher page, it’s packed with 16 different options for you to tap on. This includes the button for upgrading/starting your trial of Gemini AI Plus, which is also the button for managing your subscription if you already subscribe, and then there are options for usage limits, Gemini app activity, personal intelligence, notifications, and many more, with the settings menu way down at the bottom just above feedback and help. That’s a lot of options, and Google is cutting things down.
Gemini account switcher changes will move most current options into the settings menu
As reported by Android Authority, who has tested the new version of the Gemini app on Android, Google is moving most current options in the account switcher into the Gemini settings menu. In addition to this, it’s stated that Google will be organizing options in settings after the move so that it is also less cluttered with options.
Once the change goes through, the account switcher menu will be cut down to just six options. This includes a big “Switch Account” button just under your profile picture, which is also now larger, and then menus for managing your subscription, the Gem Manager, settings, feedback, and help. Android Authority also reports that Gems are going away, so it speculates the Gem Manager will also be removed in the near future.
There’s also going to be a new and improved search in Gemini, with the capability to hop between your most relevant searches and your most recent searches.
