Samsung is going to extreme lengths to make sure everyone remembers the Galaxy Z Fold 8 exists, now that the iPhone Duo is official. In fact, Samsung New Zealand has even hired a real estate agent named Tim Cook to “review” its Galaxy Z Fold 8.
This is just the latest way Samsung is trying to show everyone that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is better (not to mention it’s available to buy right now). The ad highlights some features of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 while also showcasing Samsung’s history in the foldable smartphone market.
This person’s name is really Tim Cook, and it’s not the one who just stepped down as Apple’s CEO. He’s a property agent with Harcourts in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Samsung named the Short “Tim Cook has an announcement. And for once, it’s about Galaxy.”
Obviously, this timing was planned; after all, Samsung released a video titled “Welcome to Foldables” just hours before Apple’s Event on Wednesday. Let’s face it, Samsung’s only competition in their eyes is Apple. So they’re going all in on the marketing machine right now.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 launched in July and has been flying off the shelves ever since
Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 back in July at its Unpacked event in London. Surprisingly, at least to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been an incredible seller since its announcement. Such a good seller that they’ve actually had to take parts from other phones to manufacture more Galaxy Z Fold 8 models.
Of course, there is an argument to be made here that Samsung only went with this form factor because Apple was preparing to announce the iPhone Duo a couple of months later. Whatever the case may be, we finally have different shapes and sizes for book-style folding phones.
