Little gaming handhelds are by no means scarce with several options for devices like the Analog Pocket, RetroRush, Hyperkin SupaBoy, and several smaller handheld options from AYANEO, and now there’s the Arduview, a retro handheld that’s being developed and is really no bigger than a credit card. The pictures make it look like it’s possible to close your hand around it.
The Arduview is not yet available for purchase and is said to be hitting Kickstarter in the near future, which means it’s going to be a while before retro gamers can get their hands around one. Given the size, though, the Arduview is going to be an excellent option for those who want something extremely pocketable that won’t take up very much space.
The Arduview retro handheld will be loaded with 400 retro game titles
According to the reports and the official Arduview webpage, the handheld will come pre-loaded with 400 retro 8-bit games to play. You’ll never run out of options with this thing around. It also reportedly comes with a small OLED panel display plus it charges via a single USB-C port.
It has a transparent design for that futuristic look and just has a few basic buttons for controlling games. It also has no Wi-Fi support and there is no store to buy games from. It is possible to place money down for the handheld right now for those who want to get in early. Arduview confirms there is a $5 deposit but that is also fully refundable until the units ship later this year. In total the Aruview handheld will cost $100 if you don’t do the $5 founders deposit. If you do do the founders deposit though, the unit only costs $49, so the incentive here is to back the project and get the Arduview retro handheld for half off.
