Motorola introduced its new Moto Snap wireless charger at the recent IFA 2026 trade show. The new device is a magnetic charging pad, which aims to deliver fast wireless power to supported devices while keeping the thermals low. The new charger supports the latest Qi2.2 standard, offering up to 25W of power for compatible devices. It can also deliver up to 30W of power for Motorola phones using the company’s proprietary charging protocol.
Motorola’s Moto Snap charger offers efficient charging and advanced heat protection
The Motorola Moto Snap wireless charger holds your compatible smartphone in place using magnets, so you don’t have to worry about aligning the device on a flat pad. You can even keep compatible magnetic cases on your smartphone while charging. One of the biggest highlights of the new Motorola charger is the built-in overheat and overcharge protection.
For those unaware, heat usually slows down wireless charging because warm devices limit their power intake to safeguard the battery. However, Motorola has designed the new charger to run cooler even during extended use to maintain the highest charging speeds. Its auto cutoff feature stops drawing standby power when it detects no attached device, saving energy.
As for the pricing, the Motorola Moto Snap charger has a starting MSRP of €39 (roughly $45). The company will start selling the new charger across select markets in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks.
The new charger debuts alongside the Edge 70 Plus smartphone and Watch Ultra smartwatch
Motorola has introduced the new charger alongside two other devices at the mobile event in Berlin. The first one is the Edge 70 Plus, an upper mid-range smartphone. It packs a 6,500mAh battery, a smooth 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen, and a sharp 200-megapixel main camera. The other highlights include an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, Gorilla Glass 7i, MIL-STD-810H durability, and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC.
The second device is the Moto Watch Ultra. This new smartwatch runs on Wear OS 6 and supports LTE networks. Motorola has worked with Polar to add health tracking tools to the new wearable. It sports a bright OLED screen and provides up to two days of active use with the always-on display disabled.
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus starts at around $695, while the Watch Ultra will be available starting at approximately $500. The company will start selling them in select markets in the coming weeks. Motorola also introduced a new Razr covered in Crystals by Swarovski at the same event, which it’ll start selling in the US from September 10 at $899.99.
