If you have been eyeing a flagship tablet for a long time now, Xiaomi has a brand-new option for you. Alongside the first wide foldable, Xiaomi 18 Fold, the company unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max at its Autumn flagship product launch event yesterday. As sophisticated as the name sounds, the device is a beast in itself. All thanks to the brand-new flagship chipset, monster battery, flagship display, and software that would make your experience of using this tablet buttery smooth.
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max display, processor, camera, and more
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max features a 13.3-inch 3.4K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and 3408 x 2272 pixels resolution. Speaking of the build, the device uses a 5.67mm unibody metal design and weighs around 645 grams. Xiaomi is also touting the display’s 1,000 nits of peak brightness and claims ΔE≈0.47 color accuracy.
Not to forget, there is an optional Nano Soft Light Edition of the tablet. The company says it is for users looking for a less reflective display while working or consuming video content. On the optics side, this Xiaomi tablet houses a 50MP rear camera that supports up to 4K 60fps recording. On the front, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max houses a 32MP camera with up to 1080p 60fps recording.
Under the hood, the new, flagship 3nm XRING O3 chipset takes care of the tablet’s performance. Xiaomi further claims that the chipset’s CPU and GPU results are close to Apple’s M5 processor. On the software front, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max boots the company’s in-house HyperOS 4.0. You can expect big-screen optimizations as well as desktop-focused features. Xiaomi says that users can use up to six different applications simultaneously.
A tablet built for serious multitasking
One of the interesting things about the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is its integration of the DP-in feature. This means the tablet can work as a secondary PC monitor, drawing display, or external console screen. The tablet also features eight speakers and six microphones. Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and noise reduction round out its multimedia setup.
The battery is one of the highlights of this tablet. Xiaomi has managed to pack a monster 12,000mAh battery under the hood. The tablet also supports 120W wired charging, backed by Xiaomi Surge Charge technology. In addition, the tablet supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, among other features.
