Samsung started rolling out a fix for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s red tint issue recently, but unfortunately, that fix brought a new problem to the table, it seems. Reports are popping out left and right.
Samsung said that the red tint issue on the Galaxy S26 Ultra was caused by a color calibration issue. That’s something Samsung aimed to fix with the August update. However, a new issue popped up following that update, arguably even worse than the red tint issue.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra red tint fix caused a new display problem
Users are reporting that while the red tint issue is eliminated (for most), the update introduced colored dots along the edges of the screen. On the flip side, some users are saying that the top and bottom edges of the display are still red. If that’s true, the update did not completely eliminate the red tint issue either. You can see the dots issue below.

Furthermore, even customers who brought their phones into service centers prior to Samsung’s August update are reporting dots on the screen. So it’s possible that, in the service center, the same update was applied.
Samsung said that if the update does not eliminate the problem, customers should try tweaking the display color setting or visit a service center. Granted, this was prior to the dots issue; Samsung has yet to react to that.
Samsung’s reaction is expected one way or the other
The company is expected to react to the latest issue, at least through a service agent. It may take some time for Samsung to pinpoint the problem. If you’re facing this issue and are impatient, taking your device to a service center is the best call.
As a reminder, the color calibration patch was made to fix an issue in the OLED screen’s R, G, and B pixel values that caused the red color to be overblown at times and in some areas. Based on these reports, something went wrong with the new calibration.
