Google is making sleep routines a lot more entertaining just in time for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary this year. Following up on the screenless band it introduced back in May, the company is expanding its lineup with the new Google Pokémon Sleep Fitbit Air (review) Special Edition, blending nighttime health metrics with actual mobile gaming rewards.
This new wristband is built specifically for users who want lightweight, 24/7 rest and recovery tracking without a bulky screen shining in their face at night. It joins the standard model and the basketball-inspired Stephen Curry special edition.
A cozy Sleeping Pikachu design
The special edition gets its identity from a custom “Sleepy Blue” soft fabric loop band. Right on the strap, Google added a subtle silk print label featuring a sleeping Pikachu. This gives fans a fun nod to the game without turning the tracker into a flashy toy.
Underneath the strap, the hardware stays identical to the regular Fitbit Air. It carries all the standard features, monitoring your heart rate, daily movement, and cardio load during daytime workouts, then automatically switching to track your light and deep sleep stages once you hit the pillow.
Turning your sleep score into Snorlax power
Setting up the game integration takes under a minute. You simply link your Google Health app to Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS. Then you should pair the band inside the Pokémon Sleep app settings menu.
Once linked, your overnight rest and daytime naps automatically sync to the game every morning. Helper Pokémon on your team collect Berries to boost Snorlax’s strength, and your Google Health sleep score acts as a multiplier to generate “Drowsy Power.” The higher your score, the more rare Pokémon and unique sleeping styles gather around Snorlax for you to discover and log in your Sleep Style Dex.

Google is bundling a three-month trial of Google Health Premium (formerly Fitbit Premium) with every purchase. This gives users access to long-term trend analysis and personalized advice from an AI Health Coach powered by Gemini.
Pre-orders open today in the US and Japan through the Google Store and Target. Official shipping starts on September 15. The special edition costs $129.99—matching the price of the Stephen Curry model and sitting just $30 above the standard $99 Fitbit Air.
