Some Pixel 11 owners are reporting issues of apps crashing and working in unintended ways, and it’s an issue that is reportedly not limited to just the Pixel 11 series phones. Google officially announced the Pixel 11 series back on August 12, with the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold going up for pre-order on the same day. All four phones officially launched on August 20 alongside the Pixel Watch 5 and a new colors of the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
According to reports of the issue on Reddit, several users are having problems across the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11, with apps randomly crashing. Some users report the crashes happen after a few minutes of use. Others are reporting that the apps are crashing immediately. Another user is reporting a problem with songs skipping without having touched the skip button. This is said to be happening in Spotify.
Apps are crashing on more than just the Pixel 11 series phones
Based on reported information, it’s not clear how widespread this problem is. Some users are confirming the issue on multiple Pixel 11 variants, but others are reporting the problem on the Pixel 9. The thread, so far at least, doesn’t make any mentions of the Pixel 10 series phones or any issues on Pixel older than the Pixel 9 series.
As for specific apps, some users report problems with Google Photos, while another users mentions that the issue only pops up in Google Photos when attempting to edit images. Other say that the app doesn’t matter at all, but that every app keeps crashing regardless of what it is. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to the issue, and so far Google has not given an explanation for the problem or issued details on a fix. One user in the Reddit thread states that they had the cashing issues themselves, but the crashes stopped after they joined the Systems Services beta and updated to the beta.
