As promised, Samsung is now rolling out a fix for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s red tint issue. A couple of days ago, it was confirmed by a Samsung representative that a fix is coming before the end of the month. Well, the fix is now here.
Red tint fix for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is a part of the August 2026 Android security update
The update seems to be arriving via the August 2026 Android security patch for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung issued a notice in the Samsung Members app in South Korea, saying that the software update is rolling out.
Considering the timing, we do assume it’s the August 2026 Android security patch; that can’t be a coincidence. That also means that the update will start reaching other markets in the next couple of days. These updates usually spread their wings quickly.
“Color optimization” is mentioned
In Samsung’s message, “color optimization” is mentioned. Considering that the red tint issue was related to color calibration, there you go. This should fix the red tint issue with no action required by the user other than updating.
A while back, users of the Galaxy S26 Ultra started noticing this issue. Samsung quickly reacted to confirm it’s not a hardware issue, but a software one. Following that, the company promised a quick fix, and it now delivered, it seems.
Some users were not willing to wait, so they decided to take their Galaxy S26 Ultra units directly to Samsung for repair. That was also an option, as Samsung said it can take care of the issue if users are unwilling to wait.
