Samsung started rolling out its August 2026 Android security update to the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy S25 series, and Galaxy S24 series phones yesterday. Soon after, the update started reaching the company’s foldables as well.
Samsung’s August 2026 security update is now reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 6
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are now getting that same update. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is, for whatever reason, a bit behind, but an update for that phone is coming soon.
This update is all about security. It brings fixes for 56 security issues, and it started rolling out in South Korea, Samsung’s homeland. The update will spread its wings very soon, as it usually does in a matter of days.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are getting firmware versions F966NKSSCBZH3 and F766NKSSCBZH3, respectively. The Galaxy Z Flip 6, on the other hand, is getting a firmware version F741NKSS4DZH5.
This update delivers 56 security fixes
Out of 56 security fixes, 38 of them come from Google, while 18 have been provided by Samsung. Google’s patches include 8 critical-priority fixes and 30 high-priority ones. Samsung has 2 high-priority fixes, 14 moderate-priority ones, and 2 undisclosed priority fixes.
It doesn’t seem like there are any other updates included here, only security patches. Well, at least Samsung didn’t list any. There’s a chance you’ll find something once the update arrives to your device.
It is worth noting that this update is rolling out in stages. So even when it arrives in your region, there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait a bit before you get it. Samsung is very good when it comes to speedy update rollouts, so you won’t have to wait for long. There’s a good chance the update will spread worldwide in a week or two at the very latest.
