After revealing the redesigned Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra in CADs yesterday, AndroidHeadlines can now exclusively bring you the CADs of the base Galaxy S27. These renders show the Galaxy S27 from every angle, front, back, and sides, so you can see what Samsung has (or, in this case, hasn’t) changed this time around.
The design here is mostly the same as the Samsung Galaxy S26, and considering all of the uproar over the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s redesign, this might be a good thing. We’re still looking at the vertical triple-camera layout on the backside, which means that the Galaxy S27 will still rock when placed on a flat surface.
The Galaxy S27 is going to have dimensions of roughly 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm. This is very similar to the dimensions of the Galaxy S26, which are 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm. It’ll also retain the 6.3-inch display that Samsung has used for the past few generations of the base Galaxy S.
It looks like Samsung will be keeping the redesigned camera plateau for the ‘Ultra’ this year. Perhaps Samsung will bring it down to other devices in the Galaxy S line in 2028 with the Galaxy S28. We’ll have to wait and see.
As you can see in the image below, very little has changed between the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S27. Keep in mind that this color is not confirmed to be offered with the Galaxy S27. Otherwise, it looks like the bezels might be a tiny bit smaller, and that’s about it.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S27 be announced?
Typically, Samsung has announced the Galaxy S series in January a week or two after CES. However, last year Samsung moved that back to the end of February, a week before Mobile World Congress. That is when Samsung used to announce its new flagships years ago. I believe Samsung will stick to that timeframe and announce the Galaxy S27 around the week of February 22, 2027.
This would put it the week before Mobile World Congress, and not immediately after the new year begins. Which would mean we have about 6 months before the Galaxy S27 is announced.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Specs
We can confirm that the Galaxy S27 will stick with a 6.3-inch display once again, making it Samsung’s “small flagship”. Dimensions for the Galaxy S27 will be roughly 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm, which is essentially the same as the Galaxy S26 from earlier this year. We weren’t expecting major changes on that front, so this is not surprising.
Internally, things are still a bit up in the air. With the Galaxy S26, Samsung used the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the US and a few other markets, while Europe received the Exynos 2600. With the rumor mill saying that the Exynos 2700 is performing quite well in tests compared to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon chip, it’s possible that Samsung could opt to use the Exynos 2700 worldwide in the Galaxy S27.
Galaxy S27 is expected to stick with 12GB of RAM and start at 256GB of storage. Given the current RAM crisis, it would be very shocking to see the Galaxy S27 start with more RAM than that.
When it comes to the cameras, Samsung is apparently testing out a new main camera for the Galaxy S27. Rumors point to a Sony sensor being tested, which would mean Samsung is ditching its own ISOCELL sensor on the base Galaxy S27. This would also be the first camera change on the base model in over five years.
Finally, the battery. Samsung opted to go with Silicon-Carbon batteries on its foldables; it’s a very small amount of silicon, but it is still a move in the right direction. So we’re expecting this to carry over to the Galaxy S27 series as well, with rumors pointing to a nearly 14% increase in battery capacity to 4,900 mAh. The Galaxy S27 Ultra’s battery is expected to be around 5,700 mAh. So, some nice upgrades here.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S27 cost?
This year, the Galaxy S26 did get its first price increase since the Galaxy S21, from $799 to $899. With the ongoing RAM crisis, we fully expect to see another price increase next year for the Galaxy S27.
We expect another $100 price increase for the Galaxy S27 when it debuts in February. Of course, this is one of the last things Samsung will finalize before launching the Galaxy S27, so things could change between now and February. But analysts don’t expect the RAM crisis to improve for a few more years.
