The Pixel Watch 5 factory images aren’t something that the average user is going to know about, but they’re here and they’re available for download for those that want to take advantage of that availability. Google announced the Pixel Watch 5 back on August 12 at its annual Made by Google event, where it also announced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, Pixel 11 Pro Fold, the Pixel Tag, and a new color of the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Google launched all of those devices, except for the Pixel Tag, on August 20, that means consumers who pre-ordered the Pixel Watch 5 are going to be getting them soon or have already gotten them. It’s also possible to just walk into a retail store where the watch is being sold and purchase it on the spot.
The Pixel Watch 5 factory images come with one small change
The Pixel Watch 5 comes with Wear OS 7 out of the box. The factory images will also be the same build of Wear OS 7, at least until the watch gets updates to a newer version of Wear OS. There is one change, of course. It’s a minor change, but not one that actually alters the functionality of the software.
As pointed out by 9To5Google and Android Authority, the factory images for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and 4G LTE variants of the watch have been consolidated down to a single build of the software. Regardless of which model of the Pixel Watch 5 you have, you will get the image from that build. The build you’re looking for will be labeled accordingly, but the specific build number if you want to make it as simple as possible is CD5A.260611.00. You can grab the factory image for your watch from the Google Play Services website.
