Samsung’s next big thing is almost here: the Galaxy S26 FE. Yes, this year’s fan edition is set to be launched in the coming weeks – it could be set for IFA again, similar to last year, which kicks off on September 4.
Ahead of the announcement, the Galaxy S26 FE has started to leak in a new real-life hands-on video, giving us a good look at the new changes to expect this year.
The video shows the Galaxy S26 FE in blue, which will likely be similar to the Cobalt Violet color of the rest of the Galaxy S26 line. This color does look blue in some lighting, even though it is technically purple. The camera island does appear to stick out a bit more than it did on the Galaxy S25 FE last year, but the individual cameras do sit flush on the island. So there’s no bump and then another bump on top of it for each camera. This is likely being done to visually set it apart from the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus.
This video also confirms that the Galaxy S26 FE is running Android 17 with One UI 9, which isn’t much of a surprise. After all, One UI 9 launched with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra last month. Apparently, Samsung has brought the viral Horizon Lock feature to the Galaxy S26 FE as well.
When will the Galaxy S26 FE be announced?
Samsung hasn’t said anything officially about the Galaxy S26 FE, but we do know that it is coming soon. Around Unpacked, a Samsung Africa executive noted to keep an eye out in the “coming weeks” for the Galaxy S26 FE.
We’re betting it’ll be announced during the media days at IFA, September 2-3. This is when Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 FE last year, along with a few other tablets. But we should find out more info very soon.
