The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series has started getting the August 2026 Android security patch. This includes two of the company’s latest book-style foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
The August 2026 Android security patch is reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series
The update has started rolling out in the company’s homeland, Korea. It brings a total of 56 security fixes to the table. Out of those 56 fixes, 38 have been provided by Google, while 18 come from Samsung.
Google’s fixes include 8 critical-priority fixes and 30 high-priority fixes. Samsung’s patch group has two high-priority fixes, 14 moderate-priority fixes, and two fixes with undisclosed priority levels.
It is also worth noting that 9 of Google’s fixes are not included in Samsung’s August 2026 security patch. 8 are unrelated to Samsung, while one was already included in Samsung’s July 2026 update.
While the update has started in Korea, it will quickly spread to other markets. It usually takes Samsung mere days to spread its updates to a global scale, so there’s a good chance it’ll start rolling out in your region soon, if it hasn’t already.
The update is rolling out in stages
Do note that it will roll out in stages, so you should be patient. It may take a while for all devices to get the update, even when the update reaches your specific region.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra were announced on July 22 and have been made available for purchase mere days ago, following a record-breaking pre-order period. The devices are quite popular on a global scale, especially the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Those two phones, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, managed to break all pre-order records in Korea, while they’re selling significantly better than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in Europe and in a ton of other markets.
