The fifth One UI 9 beta update for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series has landed. That goes for all three members of the family – the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung is pushing out One UI 9 Beta 5 to the Galaxy S26 series as we speak
This particular update brings eight changes to the table. Well, at least according to the official changelog. It fixes an issue where the app freezes, or a white screen appears in some menus of the Settings app.
It also fixes an issue where the speed is slow, or a black screen appears when launching the camera widget on the lock screen. If you’ve had a problem with the bottom bar not displaying correctly while using the Phone app, that should no longer be a problem either.
A blank screen was temporarily visible when entering the recent files list in the My Files app, but that should no longer be the case. My Files app also had an issue where 1×1 size shortcuts were not being added to the bottom bar of the home screen, but that has been fixed too.
Furthermore, Samsung also fixed an issue where the preview screen position is misaligned or flickers in the Video Editor and Photo Editor. Samsung also fixed an issue where the screen intermittently flickers in certain situations.
And finally, Wi-Fi connection errors have been fixed, while the general connection stability has been improved.
The August 2026 Android security patch is also included
This beta update also comes with the August 2026 Android security patch, by the way. That patch fixes 56 security issues. 38 security fixes from Google are included, and 18 of them from Samsung.
Do note that the One UI 9 Beta 5 update weighs over 1.1GB, so if you don’t have unlimited data, make sure you’re connected to a WiFi network. It is currently rolling out in Korea and the UK, but it will expand to other markets quickly, if it hasn’t already.
