Remember when we would find codes to compose our own ringtones on devices like the Nokia 3310? These days, most people are happy using the default ringtone. But in case you’re a bit more particular, Samsung shared a video on how it composed its new ringtone for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a new ringtone
In case you’re unfamiliar, Samsung has debuted a new ringtone for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 foldable. This is actually part of the launch of One UI 9.0 on its new phones and it is called “Chopin Nocturne Opus 9 Number 2.” The ringtone was inspired by Frédéric Chopin’s famous Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2. It was performed by Yekwon Sunwoo, who also happens to be the first Korean pianist to win the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017.
The ringtone itself is rather calming and slow. This means that it’s better suited for an alarm that wakes you up gently rather than a phone call. But either way, it’s up to you. But that’s not all, in addition to the new ringtone, Samsung also released a new take on its iconic “Over the Horizon” ringtone. So essentially, Galaxy Z Fold 8 users have two new choices to pick from.
Meet Samsung’s new foldables
It was just last month that Samsung announced three new foldable phones. This came in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Flip 8 is essentially the successor to last year’s Flip 7. Also, if the rumors are true, could be the last flip phone from Samsung.
The Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are the more interesting devices. The Fold 8 is actually a new model that sports a wider, more tablet-like display when unfolded. Instead, the Fold 8 Ultra is the one that has inherited the more traditional foldable display that we’ve seen in previous Samsung foldables.
It’s also interesting because in the past, the Flip series has typically performed better. This is due to the more affordable price tag. However, this year is different as Samsung is seeing greater demand for the Fold series.
