Abxylute S8 Lite Mobile Controller Delivers Hall Effect Gaming for Less

After launching the S8 wireless game controller last year, Abxylute is now bringing a slightly more affordable option, the S8 Lite mobile controller. The company dropped wireless connectivity support to bring the price down, but it still packs quite a lot for the price. The controller features Hall Effect joysticks, Hall Effect linear triggers, a swappable D-pad, and more.

The Abxylute S8 Lite is a telescopic controller that connects to devices via a USB-C port on the right side. Because it uses a USB connection, it won’t work with the Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 (unlike the S8 wireless, which connects via Bluetooth). It works with smartphones and tablets running Android or iOS with a USB-C port. It fits devices up to 216 mm (~8.6-inch) long.

The Abxylute S8 Lite comes with full-sized Hall Effect joysticks, Hall Effect linear triggers for precision, ABXY buttons in an Xbox layout, and a swappable D-pad (cross and circular) to match different game genres and play styles. It also includes two programmable back buttons, along with turbo and macro modes, and a capture button for instant screenshots. There’s also a USB-C port for passthrough charging so there are no interruptions during gaming sessions.

Drops wireless connectivity

Additionally, users will be able to adjust various features. For instance, they will be able to adjust joystick sensitivity and input modes and remap buttons using the ABXY game app. The controller offers laser-textured anti-slip grips. It’s also relatively lightweight at 226 grams.

The Abxylute S8 Lite mobile controller’s full price is $49.99, but it is available for $39.99 via the official website. Although there’s no exact date, Abxylute says shipping will start in mid-July. So we’ll probably get an update soon. In comparison, the S8 controller was launched at $59.99, but it is now available for $42.99.
