According to a new report from a trusted source, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is coming with a notably different hinge than in the past. He also elaborated on what the differences are.
Samsung improved crease control on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, but there’s a catch
The information comes from Ice Universe, one of the best-known and most accurate tipsters around. He says Samsung wanted to improve the display crease, which is why these changes have been made.
The company has allegedly made the folding and unfolding action “more decisive.” The tipster says it’s no longer easy for the hinge to hold the phone in certain angles, which is something some users will see as a negative for sure.
These changes seemingly bring a significant improvement to the crease. Ice says that Samsung has “reached the top level in the industry,” while he adds that the crease control is now comparable to that of the OPPO Find N6.
The Android Headlines Take
Comparing the crease control to that of the OPPO Find N6 is huge praise from the tipster. Why? Well, the OPPO Find N6 has the best crease control out there. The crease is barely noticeable, and we stopped noticing it straight away, basically, when we started using the phone.
Yes, there’s a tradeoff here, as you won’t be able to prop up the device in a ton of folding positions anymore, but many would agree that this tradeoff is worth it. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 made a huge step forward in terms of thinness and weight, and now the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is improving the crease control.
As a reminder, both of these phones and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, are expected to arrive on July 22. Samsung still didn’t confirm the date, at least not directly, but it did confirm it indirectly.
