Xiaomi appears to have a few new smartphones in its pipeline, which it might launch later this year. A few days back, popular Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) leaked some details about the Xiaomi 18. Now, the same tipster has revealed some camera specs of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is reportedly coming with massive camera upgrades
Per DCS’ Weibo post, Xiaomi is going all in on the camera department of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The device will reportedly house a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor. To catch you up, similar details surfaced regarding the smartphone’s camera back in April. The camera sensor will likely feature next-generation Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology. In case you are unaware, it will reportedly deliver exceptional HDR and low-light performance.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will reportedly also include a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. Notably, the periscope telephoto camera comes with 3x optical zoom and an f/2.4 aperture. Not to forget, it will likely also support macro shooting from a distance of approximately 15 cm.
If you have used the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, you’d immediately notice the upgraded camera specs. The latest existing “Pro Max” model features a triple 50MP Leica-branded camera setup. As of now, rumors hint that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will debut first in China in Q4 alongside the Xiaomi 18 and 18 Pro.

Rumors from back in April also hint that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will come with a 6.9-inch flat display with 2K resolution. Xiaomi is most likely to pack Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset under the hood for performance needs. The device is also said to come with a balanced dual-speaker setup. As far as power is concerned, the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone will likely feature a whopping 8,500mAh battery with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support. Moreover, the device is most likely to boot Android 17-based HyperOS 4 out of the box.
