If you’re a Verizon customer eyeing the new Motorola Edge 2026, good news. The phone is launching on Verizon on June 11, the same day it goes on sale unlocked at Best Buy and Motorola.com. So you’re not waiting weeks to get it like with some other carrier launches. AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Spectrum Wireless, and Xfinity Mobile will be picking it up afterward, but Verizon is right there at launch.
This continues the long-running relationship between Motorola and Verizon, which honestly goes back further than most people realize. Verizon was the carrier that put Android on the map back in 2009 and 2010 with the original DROID phones, and Motorola has been giving Verizon priority treatment ever since. We’ve seen this play out with the Motorola Edge+ being a Verizon exclusive several times over the years. The Edge 2026 isn’t an exclusive this time, but Verizon still gets it first.
What Verizon customers should know before buying
The Motorola Edge 2026 supports all the 5G bands Verizon needs, including n2, n5, n66, n77, and n78. So you’re getting full Verizon 5G coverage, including the C-band networks that have been rolling out across the country over the past couple of years. It does not, however, support mmWave, which is consistent with what we’ve seen on Motorola’s mid-range Edge devices recently. If you’re in a city with Verizon Ultra Wideband, you won’t get those super-fast speeds, but honestly, mmWave is so limited in coverage that most people don’t notice the difference day-to-day.
Verizon should offer some pretty competitive deals on this phone too. The carrier has typically run aggressive trade-in promotions on Motorola devices, and given that the Motorola Edge 2026 is priced at $599, the monthly financing option through Verizon is going to be very reasonable. Expect to see it around $16-$17 per month over 36 months, plus whatever trade-in credits Verizon decides to throw on top. Keep an eye out for “free with select plans” deals too, which Verizon often runs on Motorola devices.
Spec-wise, you’re getting a 6.3-inch Extreme AMOLED display with 5,200 nits peak brightness, the MediaTek Dimensity 7450, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a triple-camera setup that includes a 10MP 3x telephoto. The 5,000mAh battery supports 60W wired charging and 15W wireless. IP68/IP69 water resistance is also included.
For Verizon customers who want a solid mid-range phone without dropping flagship money, this is going to be one of the better options on the network this summer. It’s not the only Motorola Edge phone coming this year either. Motorola’s full 2026 Edge lineup includes seven devices, though most of those are international releases. For US Verizon buyers, the Edge 2026 is the pick.
If you’re trying to decide between this and a Pixel 10a or waiting for the next Edge Ultra model, I’d say grab the Edge 2026. The June 11 launch date is right around the corner, and Verizon’s promotions on day one are usually some of the best you’ll see all year.
