Slate Auto’s pickup truck has a number of things that have caught the public’s attention. It has just two doors in a world where four doors seem almost mandatory. It has almost no features inside its boxy body. It’s also supposed to be really affordable. When it launched, the company was claiming the ability to get one for less than $20,000, though that was with the now defunct federal tax credit. Since then, Slate has given estimates under $30,000. These have all been estimates, but we’ll know the final price soon, because Slate is about to take final orders for customer trucks.
