Xiaomi has just announced two new smartphones, members of the Xiaomi 17T series. The Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are the devices in question, as they’ve been announced in Austria during the company’s launch event.
These two smartphones are not flagship devices, but they’re somewhere in between mid-range and flagship offerings from the company. They’re just behind the Xiaomi 17 series in the pecking order.
The Xiaomi 17T series is here, and the ‘Pro’ model has a flagship chip
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is the more powerful of the two, though the Xiaomi 17T is also a solid option. The ‘Pro’ model is also larger in comparison. Both phones have Leica lenses and rather capable camera setups as well.
They look basically the same, but are different in terms of size. Each has a flat display on the front, with thin uniform bezels around it. There is a display camera hole centered up top on both of the devices.

Each phone has a square camera island in the top-left corner of its back side. Three cameras are included inside it. Ultrawide and periscope telephoto snappers are identical across the two devices, while the ‘Pro’ model has a better main camera. More on that soon.
The Xiaomi 17T is a bit smaller, but both phones have outstanding displays
The Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K (2756 x 1268) resolution. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. High-frequency PWM dimming is also on board, as are a handful of TUV certifications for eye care.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K (2772 x 1280) resolution. It has a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It has high-frequency PWM dimming as well, and all the TUV certifications the regular model offers.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip fuels the Xiaomi 17T. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The Xiaomi 17T Pro, on the other hand, is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. That is MediaTek’s flagship chip. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.1 flash storage.
Both phones offer Xiaomi’s 3D IceLoop System and ship with Android 16, and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 included on top of it. Both are also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
Large silicon-carbon batteries are used here
The Xiaomi 17T has a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, while it supports 67W wired charging. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging. The Xiaomi 17T Pro has a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and it supports 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5 reverse wired charging.
The regular model supports Wi-Fi 6E, while the ‘Pro’ model supports Wi-Fi 7. Both have a dual SIM setup, and both ship with Bluetooth 6.0 support for wireless connectivity.
The Xiaomi 17T has a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a Light Fusion 800 sensor, with OIS support. That is a 1/1.55-inch sensor. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera that has an f/1.67-inch aperture lens. OIS is supported here, and the Light Fusion 950 sensor is used. That is a 1/1.31-inch sensor.
The main camera is different, but the rest of them are the same between the two phones
Both of them have the same ultrawide and periscope telephoto cameras. A 12-megapixel ultrawide camera is included, with an f/2.2 aperture lens, 120-degree FoV, and a 15mm equivalent focal length. A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit is used, with an f/3.0 aperture, OIS, 5x optical zoom, 120x AI Ultra Zoom, and 30 cm macro photography.
The Xiaomi 17T comes in four color options: Black, Blue, Opal White, and Violet. The ‘Pro’ model was announced in three color options: Black, Deep Blue, and Deep Violet. The Xiaomi 17T measures 157.6 x 75.2 x 8.17mm, while it weighs 200 grams. The ‘Pro’ model measures 162.2 x 77.5 x 8.25mm, while it weighs 219 grams.
The pricing starts at €749 for the Xiaomi 17T, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro will be available from €899.
