For a while, we’ve been coming across leaks and rumors regarding Vivo’s next flagship series, the X500. The lineup may include multiple models with different display sizes, much like the predecessors. While the phones won’t launch until later this year, a new Weibo leak brings us details of the Vivo X500 Pro cameras and chipset, hinting at what to expect.
Vivo X500 Pro may get a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with the Sony IMX06H sensor
According to reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, the device is being tested with the next-generation 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series chip. For what it’s worth, a previous leak said the phone will get the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Meanwhile, the vanilla Dimensity 9600 could be reserved for the standard Vivo X500.
He adds that it could become one of only two “Pro” compact flagship phones set to debut later this year. While there’s no explicit mention of any name, it could be the Vivo X500 Pro. This will arrive as a successor to the X300 Pro. Not stopping there, the leak also reveals details of the Vivo X500 Pro cameras.

The phone may feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series chip
Vivo’s upcoming flagship could feature a 50MP primary camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and LOFIC technology. This will be accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera and also a 64MP 1/2-inch periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Clarifying whether the 64MP unit is the OmniVision OV64B that’s in several phones, Digital Chat Station in the comments says the Vivo X500 Pro’s periscope telephoto camera will use the Sony IMX06H sensor. This signals that the 200MP sensor could remain exclusive to the Vivo X500 Pro Max in the lineup. It’ll probably be a periscope telephoto unit.
While that’s about it for the new leak, previous rumors say the Vivo flagship will sport a 6.37-inch flat OLED LTPO display. It’ll reportedly get a 1.5K resolution. The phone may rock a large 7,000mAh+ battery. As for the launch, the Vivo X500 series may break cover in September in China. It may expand globally in November/December this year.
