If you are into gaming, LG’s new 1000Hz gaming monitor is something you might want to take a look at. The company claims that the monitor, officially called the “LG UltraGear 25G590B,” is the “world’s first” to offer native 1000Hz refresh rate out of the box. Not to mention, the new gaming monitor breaks past the current refresh rate ceiling chased by most competitive monitors in the gaming industry.
LG’s new UltraGear monitor boasts native 1000Hz refresh rate by default
LG’s new UltraGear 1,000Hz gaming monitor comes with a 24.5-inch FHD IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080. The company offers this new monitor with a compact stand, which frees up more desk space for mouse movement. You’ll also find height, tilt, and swivel adjustments alongside customizable UltraGear ambient lighting.
Unlike some dual-mode gaming monitors, which require you to drop resolution to hit extreme refresh rates, LG says this monitor runs native 1000Hz at full resolution by default. In simple words, players don’t have to make any compromises or fiddle around switching modes.
In the announcement blog post, LG also adds that the 1,000Hz gaming monitor is designed for FPS titles, where quick reactions and motion clarity matter the most. The company has also integrated Motion Blur Reduction Pro tech. This apparently makes fast-moving enemies easier to track during intense gameplay. The IPS panel, meanwhile, uses a low-reflection coating, which helps reduce glare while maintaining accurate colors.
AI is also part of the new gaming monitor
Interestingly, LG has also added AI-powered gaming features into the mix. The company says AI Scene Optimization automatically adjusts visuals based on the game genre. Meanwhile, AI Sound improves positional audio and voice clarity with compatible headsets. LG says that its 1000Hz UltraGear gaming monitor will launch in select markets in the second half of 2026. The company hasn’t detailed the price of the monitor yet. Given that LG is going all-in with this monitor, we expect the pricing to take a hit on players’ wallets.
