Xiaomi’s upcoming 17 (review) smartphone series has been the subject of several leaks and reports lately. Last month, a major leak revealed key specifications and pricing details of these devices. Most recently, a handful of photos of the new devices surfaced on the internet, revealing their design from all angles. Now, Yogesh Brar, an X tipster, has revealed the global launch date of the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro.
Xiaomi could globally launch the 17T series on May 28
According to the source, Xiaomi could globally launch the 17T and 17T Pro models at an event on May 28. Geekbench’s database revealed one of these phones, suggesting a launch soon. Unfortunately, the tipster hasn’t shared anything else about the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro’s launch markets.
However, Brar did suggest that Xiaomi could also launch the 17 Max globally soon. India is one of the markets to get the new Max phone soon. The company has already started teasing the 17 Max on its social channels in China, which all point toward an unveiling later this month.
Here’s what we know about the Xiaomi 17T series so far
The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro will replace the 15T and 15T Pro models. According to rumors, the 17T will have a 6.59-inch AMOLED 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip could power the phone, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The other leaked features include a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a 50MP telephoto shooter, a 12MP wide-angle snapper, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 6,500mAh battery.
As for the 17T Pro variant, it could have a slightly smaller 6.83-inch OLED screen panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. A more powerful Dimensity 9500 processor, paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, will back this one. It could flaunt a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main camera, while the rest of the lenses will be similar to the standard 17T. A larger 7,000mAh battery will power the phone.
Reports so far suggest that Xiaomi could price the 17T model at around $880. As for the more high-end 17T Pro variant, it will be available at a starting price of $1,170, according to the reports. We will keep an eye out for more leaks, so stay tuned for regular updates.
