Sony is supposed to be announcing its The ColleXion Headphones in the near future and while there are still some unknown details, we’ve managed to get hands on a couple of leaked renders of them in pretty high definition detail, in both colors. Sony’s The ColleXion Headphones have leaked before a few different times. Most recently, they were spotted being worn around Manhattan prior to The Met Gala.
Before that there were some details about possible pricing and a few other features that popped up. So these new leaked images are basically the best look yet in terms of detail and the ability to see them up close.
The Sony The ColleXion Headphones come with a new hinge design and come in two colors
If you happened to miss the earlier leaks of these headphones, then you might have missed that they come with a new hinge design that differs slightly from the WH-1000XM6 and the previous headphones in that series. One of the complaints people have had about the WH-1000X series is damage to the hinges. This new design appears to be an attempt to address that.
As for the colors, the renders show that Sony plans to launch The ColleXion headphones in colors that look like black and white. Images of the white color had leaked before, and there were rumors about black and white being the color as well. These leaked renders support that, though black and white probably aren’t the official color names.
In terms of design, these do look a lot like the WH-1000XM6, but with what looks like a leather or vegan leather material instead of the matte plastic. The leather was rumored before, but you can really see it in pretty good detail now. As with the WH-1000XM6, the Sony The ColleXion Headphones have a USB-C charging port on the right ear cup. You can also barely see the microphones, but they’re there if you look close enough. Sony has not yet confirmed an official launch date or price for these, but they’ve been rumored to cost around $649. Initially they were rumored to cost upwards of $639.
