ASUS is launching a new laptop soon having just unveiled the ExpertBook Ultra laptop. It comes powered by Intel’s Core X9 Ultra chipset, and it’s also the most recent computing hardware to come with a high price as a result of the continuing memory crisis. The supply issues impacting the memory industry and several other components are far-reaching, with even Nintendo finally biting the bullet and deciding to increase the price of its Switch 2 console.
Of course, this isn’t a price increase as the product is starting out at this price. However, it is an indication that the market continues to feel the constraints of the low memory supply, and manufacturers are simply passing those costs on to consumers. That being said, if you’re in the market for an ultra book and have the extra cash to throw at one, the ExpertBook Ultra appears to have plenty to offer you.
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra laptop weighs just over 2 lbs.
With an ultra book, especially in this case, you’re not just paying for the higher cost of components, you’re also paying for the engineering work that goes into fitting all those components into such a slim and light chassis. And the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra is definitely a slim and light chassis.
ASUS says it weigh 0.99kg which is about 2.18 lbs., and it measures 10.9mm thin. This is also a 14-inch laptop, so it will easily fit into your backpack or bag, making it an ideal option for professionals who travel or commute (or both) for work on a consistent basis. The laptop also features up to 64GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and the display uses a 3K tandem OLED panel with up to 1400 nits of HDR brightness. It’s powered by Intel Arc graphics so this isn’t the laptop you would buy if you wanted to play games, but it’s likely a great option for professionals and students who aren’t interested in that.
ASUS says the laptop is now available for purchase in the US.
