Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its previous-generation Galaxy Buds after the launch of the latest model, the Galaxy Buds 4. The company has released a new software update to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in May 2026, and this brings stabilization improvements. While it’s not rolling out widely yet, it should eventually do so.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s new update focuses on stabilization improvements
The new May 2026 update for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro weighs 8.28MB in size. It reportedly carries the firmware version R630XXU0AZD2 (via Samsung Community). If you’re about to jump in and check for the update, hold on, as the update is currently only live in its home country, South Korea. But it will eventually expand to more regions.
While Samsung hasn’t said when it will release the latest May 2026 update to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in more regions, it might take up to a month, given the company’s rollout history for wearables. However, it may not be the same every time, so there is a chance it will reach early this time.
The update is live in South Korea, but will eventually expand
Translating the changelog screenshot posted on Samsung Community in South Korea suggests that the update mainly focuses on stability improvements, rather than bringing new features. So things should sail even more smoothly after the update. This comes after Samsung pushed the first software update to the Galaxy Buds 4 (review) towards the end of April.
You can manually check for the update to see if Samsung has made it available in your region. Open the Samsung Wearable app, go to Earbuds settings > Earbuds software update > Download and install. Tap on Install now to download and install it on your earbuds. It’s worth noting that the earbuds may not be available during the update installation.
