Dreame, a company you may know for its robot vacuum cleaners, has just announced two smartphones, one of which is… very interesting. This all happened during Dreame’s Next event, and Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, helped Dreame announce the devices.
Dreame announced two smartphones, one of which is modular and has detachable camera modules
Now, these two devices have been revealed in China in March, but neither has been launched until now, though. The two devices are the Aurora Nex (also known as the Nex LS1) and Aurora Lux. The former is more interesting, so that’s the one we’ll talk about first.
The Dreame Aurora Nex is a modular smartphone, actually. These devices come with a magnetic attachment point where the phone’s camera would usually sit.
Dreame revealed five camera modules that can be attached there, though. It announced a triple camera setup that includes a 1-inch-type sensor and a 115mm equivalent telephoto lens. An action camera attachment has also been announced, a fan, a satellite communications module, and a ‘Smart Agent Module.’

The hardware details did mention camera capabilities. A full focal range 200-megapixel camera was mentioned, with 3D spatial modelling. An 8K video recording at 60 fps was also mentioned, along with 14-bit raw multiframe compositing.
Dreame made it clear that this is not just a concept device. The Dreame Aurora Nex is an actual product that will become available to purchase.
The Dreame Aurora Lux is the company’s luxury smartphone
The other phone, the Dreame Aurora Lux, is the company’s luxury smartphone. It is not modular, unlike the Nex. The company says that this device draws on techniques from fine jewelry and traditional crafts.
The Dreame Lux will actually come in five designs. There are no details on all of them just yet, however, and the same goes for pricing or release date information. We don’t know when the Aurora Nex will launch either.
Both of these smartphones run Dream’s own Aurora AIOS, which is a proprietary operating system, says Dreame. In reality, it’s an Android skin with a ton of AI packed on top. We do know that AIOS will launch in the second half of 2026.
