Anthropic is making a significant push to become the go-to AI for creative professionals. Anthropic recently unveiled a series of “connectors” that allow its AI, Claude, to interact directly with industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, and Ableton. The company wants to turn its chatbot into the go-to AI for creative professionals.
According to Anthropic, these integrations aim to handle the repetitive, time-consuming parts of the creative process. This lets users focus on the creative part while the AI manages manual toil like file organization.
Claude AI new connectors: Integration that enhances 3D design and music production
The integration with Blender is particularly noteworthy. Claude now offers a natural-language interface for Blender’s Python API. This means 3D artists can use simple English to analyze scenes or write custom scripts. Anthropic has even become a Corporate Patron of the Blender Development Fund. This partnership involves a yearly contribution of at least €240,000 to help keep the software free and open-source.
Music producers and architects are also getting a boost. Through the Ableton connector, Claude can answer technical questions by sourcing information directly from official manuals. Meanwhile, SketchUp users can describe a concept for a 3D model to the AI and then open that starting point directly in the app for further refinement. Even Splice has joined the coalition, allowing producers to search through royalty-free samples directly within the Claude interface.
A unified workflow for Adobe and Affinity
Adobe users will find that Claude can now draw from over 50 tools across apps like Photoshop and Premiere. This enables tasks like retouching portraits or resizing videos for social media through simple conversational prompts. Similarly, the Affinity connector helps automate production tasks such as layer renaming and batch image exports.
