The Motorola Razr Fold is packing some serious hardware. This is Motorola’s first crack at a book-style foldable, and it’s not holding back. Here’s the complete spec sheet for the Razr Fold.
On the display front, the Razr Fold has the largest inner display of any foldable in the US at 8.1 inches. That is actually one of the largest in the world. Just a tad smaller than the OPPO Find N6 inner display. The outer display is a 6.6-inch 21:9 aspect ratio. So this is not an ultrawide foldable like what a lot of Motorola’s competitors are working on, including Apple with its iPhone Ultra.
Powering the Razr Fold is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This is actually fairly surprising, considering it’s not the most high-end silicon from Qualcomm. But for the most part, you likely won’t notice a difference in the performance on this one. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is quite powerful, and does allow Motorola to keep the price down.
Despite the current RAM-pocalypse, Motorola did still opt to include 16GB of RAM in the Razr Fold, alongside 512GB of storage. That’s the only RAM/Storage variant being offered in the US. There might be a 1TB option available in China, as we’ve seen rumored.
But perhaps the most impressive feature for the Razr Fold is the battery. This is a 6,000mAh capacity battery, and it’s silicon-carbon. Finally, we have a foldable using silicon-carbon in the US once again. The OnePlus Open used silicon-carbon, but OnePlus never followed up on that wildly successful foldable, unfortunately.
The Motorola Razr Fold pre-orders will begin on May 14, with devices shipping by May 21. The price will be $1,899. That is a pretty reasonable price; it is $200 lower than what Samsung is charging for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (we don’t yet know the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8).
