The Android 17 Beta 2 dropped very recently. We’ve already highlighted the main additions in this update, but now, we can actually show them to you. 9to5Google screencaptured the new changes, so let’s get to it.
Android 17 Beta 2 changes get shown in images, both still and animated
One of the best new additions is the new app bubbles. Bubbles is a new windowing mode that Google introduced, basically. It’s separate from chat bubbles, and it lets you create an app bubble on your phone, foldable, or tablet. All you need to do is long-press an app icon on the launcher.

Large screens, on tablets and foldables, also have a bubble bar included in the taskbar. There, you can organize and move bubbles, as well as jump between them if you wish.
The Pixel Launcher search bar received a small redesign as well, as noted recently. Youcan see the new look below.

Google also introduced an EyeDropper tool. This is a system-level API that allows apps to request a color from any pixel on the display, without needing sensitive screen capture permissions.

The Contacts picker has also been added. It “grants temporary, session-based read access to only the specific data fields requested by the user.” It is also “letting you select from personal or work profiles. It reduces the need for the broad READ_CONTACTS permissions.”

Android 17 Beta 2 also combines ‘Accounts and backup’ menu. This change replaces “Back up or copy data” and “Passwords, passkeys & accounts.”

Google has also redesigned privacy indicators, as you can see below.

You can also check out the Satellite Quick Settings Tile below.

Google also fixed a number of issues from Android 17 Beta 1
The company has also fixed a number of issues in this update. System crash and spontaneous reboot issue has been resolved, as well as an issue where Live Translate and Rules were incorrectly categorized.
A persistent crash that prevented users from opening Wallpaper & style settings from the home screen has been fixed, too. Google included a dozen more fixes with this build. You can check them out here.
