After years of development and testing in some of the world’s harshest environments, the 2027 Range Rover Electric has officially arrived. Land Rover’s first fully electric Range Rover retains the luxury SUV’s legendary off-road capability while adding instant electric performance and an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture.

Built alongside gasoline and plug-in hybrid models in Solihull, England, the Range Rover Electric marks one of the most significant launches in the brand’s 55-year history.
The 2027 Range Rover Electric is powered by a pair of 260-kW permanent magnet electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined 542 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. That makes it the most powerful production Range Rover to date.

Despite its size and luxury focus, the electric SUV is quick. Land Rover says it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, while passing from 50 to 75 mph takes just 2.7 seconds, giving it effortless acceleration on the highway.
Power comes from a new 118.5-kWh usable lithium-ion battery pack featuring 344 prismatic cells and an advanced 800-volt architecture. Land Rover estimates the Range Rover Electric can travel up to 333 miles on a full charge.
The move to an 800-volt electrical system also significantly improves charging performance.

Using a 350-kW DC fast charger, the 2027 Range Rover Electric can recharge its battery from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes, putting it among the quickest-charging luxury electric SUVs.
For North American buyers, Land Rover has equipped the SUV with a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing direct access to Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network without requiring an adapter.
Owners can also schedule charging sessions through the new Range Rover app, helping take advantage of lower electricity rates during off-peak hours. The app also lets users remotely monitor battery status, precondition the cabin, activate the heated steering wheel and locate the vehicle.
Although the powertrain is completely new, Land Rover says the Range Rover Electric is every bit as capable off-road as its gasoline-powered counterpart.

New software manages traction through Intelligent Driveline Dynamics, which can instantly vary torque distribution across the rear axle to maximize grip. The electric motors are also managed by an updated Integrated Traction Management system that reacts up to 100 times faster than the traction control system in a conventional internal combustion vehicle.
The electric SUV also introduces a new Single Pedal driving mode, which is designed for more than regenerative braking. Land Rover says it provides exceptional control during technical off-road driving, allowing the Range Rover Electric to confidently pull away on grades as steep as 33 degrees and climb inclines up to 45 degrees without drama.
Electric propulsion also enhances one of the qualities buyers already expect from a Range Rover: refinement.
Without the sound of an internal combustion engine, the cabin is even quieter than before, allowing passengers to better appreciate the SUV’s luxurious interior. Land Rover says the instant torque and seamless power delivery create an even more relaxed driving experience, whether navigating city streets or cruising on the highway.

Visually, the 2027 Range Rover Electric remains instantly recognizable, preserving the clean, minimalist design that has defined the current-generation Range Rover while subtly integrating electric-specific details.
