Samsung’s flagship phones are among the best-selling in the world. However, even more popular are its mid-range and low-end mobile devices in the Galaxy A family. The company takes great care of these models, also offering long-term support with major updates for years. Now, in line with that, Samsung has begun the rollout of One UI 7 (based on Android 15) to the Galaxy A34.
For weeks, Samsung has been diligently pushing its latest software to various models across the Galaxy A family. This follows having already updated all of its eligible flagship models, including some as old as the Galaxy S21 series. Now it’s the turn of one of the most popular handsets in the firm’s catalog.
Android 15-based One UI 7 reaches the Samsung Galaxy A34
Tipster Tarun Vats has revealed in an X/Twitter post that Samsung has already begun the rollout of the Android 15-based One UI 7 update on the Galaxy A34. As is typical with major Samsung software releases, the process is kicking off in South Korea, the company’s home turf. The firmware update arrives with build number A346NKSU9DYE7/A346NOKR9DYE7/A346NKOU9DYE5. And here’s a detail that hints at a lot of new goodies: the update file is quite large, weighing in at 3.8GB. That size suggests a significant number of changes and improvements are packed inside.
Given previous history, the global update rollout for the device shouldn’t take long. If everything goes well with the firmware and there are no serious last-minute bugs that force a delay, Samsung usually begins the process in other countries the week after the initial rollout in Korea. In some cases, the company has even done so earlier.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A34 in 2023 with a promise of four major Android updates for the device. That means it’s also eligible for the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. Let’s get our fingers ready so the wait isn’t as long and tortuous as it was with One UI 7.
